Bike Share of Austin to launch new bike share system at The Domain
Stonelake Capital Partners and The Domain Property Owners Association co-sponsor first bike share service at Austin’s second downtown

AUSTIN- Bike Share of Austin, the non-profit operator of the Austin B-cycle system, announced today that they will be launching the first bike share service at The Domain, called Domain BCycle, on Saturday, February 16 in partnership with system sponsors Stonelake Capital Partners and The Domain Property Owners Association.

“As Bike Share of Austin looks to expand shared-use vehicle services in Austin, we are thrilled to be working with our community partners to bring cutting edge technology in the next step in bike share to The Domain,” said Elliott McFadden, Executive Director of Bike Share of Austin (BSA).

BSA will be deploying 100 of BCycle’s next generation Dash smart bikes at The Domain. The bikes will have built in on-board computers featuring an interactive screen with GPS connectivity for checkout and turn-by-turn directions, and bikes will be available for rental and return at red branded bike racks at twenty station locations throughout the north Austin campus.

“Stonelake is excited to work with an experienced, community-focused operator to make bike share a reality in The Domain and help create value for The Domain’s current and future employers, residents and many visitors.” said Will Jenkins, a Principal at Stonelake Capital Partners, a sponsor of Domain BCycle and Owner / Developer of The Domain South End.

The system sponsors provided capital funding for the new service with Bike Share of Austin, a local 501c3 non-profit with over 5 years of operational experience in bike share.

“With our concentration of high-tech employers, residents, and retail, The Domain is now Austin’s second downtown,” said Heath Johnson, Mananging Director of Asset Management at TIER REIT and head of The Domain Property Owners Association, the system’s co-sponsor. “We are excited to partner with BSA in providing a premier and locally-operated bike share service that will offer easy access across The Domain’s iconic 300-acre, live-work-play community.”

Pricing to access Domain BCycle will range from single trips at $1 to unlock and $2/30 minutes to $80 for unlimited trips up to 60 minutes for the year. Annual members in the Austin B-cycle and Domain BCycle systems will have access to both systems at no additional charge. Riders can learn more and pre-enroll at Domain.Bcycle.com
